Advice from My Pretty Vintage
If you’re having a wedding that’s all about vintage chic and retro romance then you will find it’s those little extra touches that give your day some extra magic.
If you want to give your wedding day a vintage boutique feel then advice from an expert can be a great way to add a professional and polished look to your day and bring all your decor ideas together.
Angie from hire company My Pretty Vintage talks to us about the vintage wedding trend:
“In with the old, out with the new, that’s our motto! The last few months have proved that more and more couples are embracing the beauty of vintage and are looking to create a romantic story that their guest can share. We try to think outside the box, turning silver teapots into pretty table centrepieces, old vintage doors as ceremony backdrops, rustic ladders into chandeliers...bringing a touch of fun to décor, so gone are the typical tall candelabras with perfectly structured roses. We prefer wild flowers in old crates, metal buckets brimming with dusty pink roses, seating plans hand written on old window frames, antique bottles filled with fynbos, hat boxes as cake stands. Simply, for the love of Vintique!”
We’ve been lucky enough to have a sneak peek into the world of hire company My Pretty Vintage and they have some beautiful pieces you can hire for your big day. All their crockery has been sourced across South Africa and Europe to give a classic and authentic touch.
If you’re having confetti cones then why not store them in a retro-style case, ready for your guests to use. And set the mood at your wedding reception with pretty mismatched crockery. You can even add a little touch of the English countryside with a bright red post box for all your guests to post their wedding cards. Or set the mood in the evening with delicate teacup candles.
