The couple met over the internet in 2008, on dating website Zoosk. After chatting and getting to know a bit more about each other online, they had their first date in an Italian restaurant. After two happy years together, Robert took Natasha to a Turkish restaurant, which had been voted the most romantic restaurant in Cape Town. He read a speech out to her, which he’d saved on his Blackberry, before proposing to her.
Robert presented his bride to be with a custom made diamond ring that he’d chosen. The diamond was an heirloom. He’d taken on board the hints Natasha had dropped about rings she liked, but had created the design all by himself. Natasha thought it was beautiful!
The couple were engaged for a year before a gorgeous wedding in Franschhoek, which featured beautiful décor, a helicopter entrance and special touches to incorporate Robert’s Dutch heritage and Natasha’s South African roots. Their theme was ‘a touch of Africa’.
