After a year and a half together, Anthea came home and instantly knew Pieter was up to something as he was waiting for her at the front door with a drink, and he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. It never occurred to Anthea that he’d end up popping the question, and she nagged him to go for a walk by the sea with her as she always does.
After a walk at Bloubergstrand, Pieter suggested they take a break and sit on a bench. Anthea wondered what he was up to as he started telling her how amazing, easy and unpretentious he found their relationship, but soon they were getting ready to leave. It was then that he told her to close her eyes, and he gave her the ring he’d chosen.
The next nine months were spent planning a wedding, and Anthea describes being engaged as the best time in any girl’s life.
