Whether you dream of getting married in a castle, or a Moorish Palace, or even on a sun drenched beach, weddings abroad in Spain can satisfy even the most discerning of couples. Marriage Requirements

Getting married in Spain can be a complicated business. If you are Roman Catholic then your local priest will initiate all of the necessary paperwork and seek permission from the archbishop in the area where you want to get married. If one of you is not Roman Catholic you may have to ask for dispensation from your local priest. Ac civil ceremony is possible in Spain if you have proof of residency but it can be complicated and lengthy to organise. The most popular choice of couples is to have a civil ceremony in their own country followed by a blessing in Spain, which to all intents and purposes is the same as a proper wedding but not legally binding. Couples can however organise a civil ceremony to be held in Gibraltar which doesn't require much paperwork and is fairly easy to organise. Documents needed by both couples included valid passports and full birth certificates. For more information visit http://costablanca.angloinfo.com/countries/spain/marriage.asp
