Why would you think about weddings abroad in Quebec? Well the answer is that the province of Quebec has so much to offer a couple who are thinking of getting married. From the fabulous walled City of Quebec which has an old world charm coupled with a real European vibe, to the endless miles of forest, rivers, lakes and mountains that surround it. Everywhere in Quebec makes a fantastic backdrop to your big day. If it's a romantic hotel you are looking for then the city is adorned with them. If you are looking for the perfect backdrop to say 'I do' then you couldn't get anywhere more spectacular than the Montmorency Falls. Le Petit Champlain quarter in the heart of the city with its cobbled streets and 17th century buildings, make it and magical place to exchange your vows. Whatever you decide, Quebec can deliver.
A marriage licence has to be obtained from any number of the 'municipal, office clerks' located throughout the province. It has to be purchased at least 20 days prior because notifications have to be put up in the wedding venue of your choice and the county courthouse. The fee for your licence is $110 Canadian Dollars. You will need to produce documentation and this is as follows: Birth certificates of both parties and a valid photographic ID in the form of a drivers licence or a passport.
