Getting Married in New York

There is no getting away from it, New York is a truly amazing city. Marriage Requirements

New York

Getting married in New York is relatively easy. Couples have to apply in person to any of the 'city clerk's' offices based within the state. To get your marriage licence you have to show proof of age by means of your birth certificate, you also need to show a valid photo ID. This can be a current driver's licence or a passport.  Finally you need to part with $40.00 usually payable in cash. Once you have the licence you have to wait a minimum of 24 hours before you can get married and it is valid for a total of 60 days.
