– October is a great month, as the temperature is still warm (mid 70's) but you will have missed the hot and sultry summer months. Getting married in New Orleans is relatively easy. Licences can be obtained from one of the many 'clerk's of the court' offices located throughout the state of Louisiana. Applications can be made either by the groom or the bride, you don't both have to attend, provided that you have the necessary documentation for both parties. These consist of Valid photo ID (driver's licence, passport etc) and the relevant birth certificates for both the bride and the groom. Once you have produced your documentation and paid your $27.50 then you have to wait 72 hours before getting married. However be aware that the licence is only valid for 30 days.
