This tiny country once part of Croatia, is a hidden gem just waiting to be explored. Marriage Requirements

It is possible for a couple to have a civil wedding or a religious although most couples choose to do both. It is probably the easiest option to have a civil ceremony in your own country followed by a religious ceremony in Montenegro since you don't have so many legalities and paperwork to worry about. However, if you want a civil wedding you will need valid passports, full birth certificates, a certificate of non-impediment and a certificate stating that you are both free to marry. These documents will have to be translated into Montenegrin and notarised. You will have to file your intention to marry at least 40 days before your intended date of marriage to the civil registry in Montenegro and once the paperwork has been submitted you can marry there or at an alternative venue.
