If you're lucky you'll see an amazing migration which happens every night. If you want to try your hand at surfing then head over to Kuta where it's the best place to learn. The night life buzzes here too. Climb Mount Batur which is surrounded by a lake and provides a glorious setting. Finally, you might like to visit Gunung Kawi, a temple which is steeped in history and thought to date back to 1049. It is a place that is still used for meditation.

– The dry season is from April to October and the wet season from October to March. The best time to visit is between May and August when the rains are lighter and the temperatures slightly cooler.
