If you fancy partying on down, then you've come to the right place. The world famous Mardi Gras takes place here every year between February and March and is a sight to behold. Bourbon Street offers a whole host of bars with jazz music, steaming hot bowls of Gumbo and cocktails that goes on well into the wee small hours. If it's something a little more serene, then how about a walk around the historic French quarter, where you will find, museums, art galleries and boutique stores. Or for something a little different, then take a trip down the Mississippi in an authentic river boat and step back in time.

– October is a great month, as the temperature is still warm (mid 70's) but you will have missed the hot and sultry summer months. October is also one of the driest months, after the rainy season of June through to September. Of course a visit to new Orleans isn't complete without a trip to the Mardi Gras.
